Since 1998 the focus of my work as an RMT has been TMJ Dysfunction and Voice Disorders ~ I no longer provide face-down general "back" work.
MANY of those clients arrive with Headaches as well.,
TMJ issue can be rooted in issues at the mouth, or the causal issues (often elusive to find!) can originate from farther away!
TMJ Dysfunction is often "an expression of some other issues", and therefore time is often invested to "connect the dots", attempting to unearth the connections.
TMJ issues occur within the mechanics of where we express ourselves (or withhold expressing!) ~ therefore, there is a strong connection between mind & body in this area.
Many clients find it wise to combine this manual therapy with "chat" therapies - that's brave! JWC

John graduated in 1989 from the renowned Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto. He has been an instructor in a massage therapy school, has presented at provincial massage therapy conferences, international fitness symposiums and the local chapter of Dentist associations. In 2007 he published a 3-issue series of articles on TMJ Dysfunction in Massage Therapy Canada magazine.

John pursues a level of excellence in innovative applications and since 1996 has groomed his practice towards TMJ Dysfunction. He provides an accredited Continuing Education workshop for RMT’s, and as of 2013 focuses his practice exclusively towards TMJ/voice, laryngeal and embouchure issues.
